Hola Mohalla - 2017

Training cum workshop on Rural Tourism Organized by Punjab Heritage & Tourism Promotion Board under IDIPT in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on 7th Feburary 2017. Sodhi Vikram Singh addressed the workshop and shared his vision to promote Sri Anandpur Sahib as a rural destination through a series of coordinated initiatives designed by the Sri Anandpur Sahib Heritage Foundation to enhance the entire tourism eco system in the region. The exchange of ideas was useful for Punjab Tourism in evolving policies in tune with the ground realities as shared by various stakeholders involved in promoting Punjab as a premier rural tourism destination.

The 5 day celebration of the spectacular Holla Mohalla festival plays host to over 5 million visitors. The mela regarded as one of the 10 most colorful festivals of the world culminates in the traditional Mohalla procession by the Nihang dals and the daring display of medieval martial arts and horsemanship showcased by the ‘Guru ki ladli fauj’ or beloved army of the Guru.
